The Number One Enemy of All Bodybuilders

Alcohol is the real enemy of all bodybuilders, as drinking alcohol makes it easy to get distracted from your training program and your healthy eating lifestyle. Most people like to have a few drinks at the weekend and it is hard to say no, especially if going out with the lads is one of your favourite pastimes.

The problem with this is that drinking alcohol will make you put on weight, as it has a high calorie content, it will also inhibit your ability to put on and build muscle mass. The thing you need to realise though is that you don't have to give up your fun lifestyle; you just need to be more responsible and disciplined with regards what you put into your body. Trade in your pint of ale for a bottle of water, or sugar free drink.

Alcohol is Bad...

You need to think of your body as a machine that you need to keep well oiled. By putting alcohol (or junk food) into your body you are clogging up your machine and reducing it's effectiveness to run properly. Alcohol has no real nutritional value and contains a lot of calories which have no benefit to you or your body. It is easy to consume in excess of a thousand calories in just a few drinks.

If you are serious about getting a ripped, lean body then you seriously need to give the booze the boot. As it doesn't matter how healthy you eat in the day if you go and drink a days worth of calories in liquid form on a night out. Plus alcohol actually slows down your metabolism, which will help you grow a beer belly, and seriously limits your muscle growth and fat loss efforts.

The Final Straw...

I'm sure you've had a hangover, I absolutely hate them and they put me off drinking along time ago. The problem with hangovers is that they ruin the whole of your next day, they wreck your schedule, they destroy your motivation to do any work never mind get down the gym and train. Even if it's your rest day, it's likely you'll skip meals, stay in bed too long and not get the right nutrients and food. Alcohol also dehydrates you and depletes your body of key nutrients further exacerbating the effects.

Alcohol also lowers the natural levels of testosterone in your body, which as a bodybuilder is a big "no no", as testosterone is a key hormone in helping you build muscle. Also alcohol lowers your inhibitions, thus making it more likely that you'll stop for a kebab or pizza on the way home, which you wouldn't touch with a barge pole in normal circumstances.

Having a beer every now and again won't do you too much harm, especially if you are only bodybuilding for fun, however if you want to compete in competitions then alcohol is out of the question. Sorry. If you are going out on a night, try to position yourself as the designated driver, you won't be able to drink and you won't get grief from your mates for not having a beer. If you do have a drink, schedule an extra 30 minutes of cardio into your training plan to make sure you burn off the extra calories.

Women Bodybuilders

The Same Object as the Men, But a Different Approach

There is no other activity within the world where a whole lot time and effort is exhausted on training for contests as weight-training. As a matter of fact, body-building really is a sport. The game face of body-building is the extreme exercise that goes into woman bodybuilders and male bodybuilders.

It takes a tremendous exertion to build a body that is fit for viewing. The perfection of the body will be the common goal of gaining either men's or women's bodies, but the approach for woman bodybuilders has to vary due to the differences of their anatomy and metabolism.

The female body is not able to develop the massiveness of a male body without chemical assistance. The exercises and natural diet of male bodybuilders produce dissimilar results in woman bodybuilders.

Woman Bodybuilders still work the iron, they have high-protein foods plus they take natural supplementation. Their bodies react with great fitness, defined musculature as well as a "six-pack", but without the muscle bulk of their male counterparts.

Body building for women has undergone several phases. Within the early days a smooth, attractive form was the objective. Then came enormous muscular advance spurred via anabolic steroids and male growth hormones. Some of the woman bodybuilders became so gigantic and ripped that they appeared like men.

Presently, the emphasis has come back to a more natural appearance for woman bodybuilders. They execute plenty of resistance exercises that give them definition and brawniness, but they still keep hold of their femininity.

Building woman bodybuilders begins with weights and resistance workouts. Every muscle group of the body is worked to total exhaustion no less than once a week. But women's bodies are a good deal dissimilar than men's and their upper and lower body shapeliness calls for different work outs.

Added importance is put on hip flexors, adductor and abductor muscle groups in the inner and outer thighs. Squats and thigh-biceps curls work the quadriceps and hamstrings, while calf raises finish the lower body.

For the upper body, females work out their chest muscle tissue with barbell or machine presses, dumbbell or machine flies, shoulder presses and arm work.

The arms are trained with barbell and dumbbell curls, triceps press-downs and French presses on the bench. A sophisticated female bodybuilder will raise an impressive quantity of weight in every training session.

Diet would be the complementary part of this system for woman bodybuilders. A diet regime with about 25% of the calories coming from protein, 40% arriving from complicated carbohydrates and the remaining from fats and fibre is needed to reconstruct the tissue broken down by intense training.

Dietetic health supplements should also be taken: Protein powder mixed with raw milk, amino acids to help you with fat using and protein metabolising. Loads of eggs need to be eaten for the best supply of usable protein.

Soluble oil like wheat germ oil needs to be ingested for energy & endurance. Kelp and desiccated liver medication for a focused protein boost.

Competition is the ultimate feature of woman bodybuilders. As women's bodies are dissimilar to men's, also they are displayed another way for the best part. While they do accept some of the "male" poses, like flexing the arms, shoulders and back, woman bodybuilders poses look generally more graceful and intended to indicate the highly developed feminine body at its greatest.

In brief, building woman bodybuilders is a lot similar to building a muscle man, however the approach is somewhat dissimilar to take into consideration women's form and metabolism. The results, however, are just as awesome as men's!

What motivates Bodybuilders?

By Hélcio

What are the reasons why bodybuilders training and dieting programs? Many people have only one reason to keep training. When you are younger, like 18 years old your reasons are much different than when you are my age, 47 years old. I passed thru those reasons already like: being noticed, impress girls, intimidation, respect and others. What motivates your training? A very small amount of trainers will keep on road to competition. The most common reason is "Looking good" for others eyes. It's love for muscles and a muscled physique and passion in having perfectly shaped physique. The health benefits that come from maintaining an active lifestyle will come later when you become older. I have a friend that says, on those winter mornings when we go to the gym that It is the very thin line between Lions and Rats.

When you know what you want from a bodybuilding program, you can better choose your training routines. The bodybuilding training program is usually focused in specific objectives. These objectives must be what motivates you,.

Your success will come when you better apply your strengths and learn with your weaknesses.

Some people enjoy exercise just because it is exercise; They don't do it for a medical purpose or health care, just because they like it. Why exercise makes you feel good? When you exercise your brain releases endorphins which provide a feel good factor.

Many people become addicted to exercise for this reason and also because exercise is related directly to self esteem. You feel good after you leave the gym. You feel good about yourself when you overcome your goals and can   complete it. I can't think of a week without going to the gym. It's my place, my time with my friends and my own problems and thoughts. For me is my therapy.

At 47 years old I can say what motivates me is my mirror! Sorry to say that but all my high school friends aren't doing very well. Some people ask that traditional question about bodybuilding: What will happen when you stop? Will you get fat? Your body will fall?

My answer is: serious bodybuilders never stop. So keep going my friends.

The benefits of amphetamine derivatives

For the bodybuilder, the most appealing of the current crop of diet drugs are the amphetamine derivatives. They can be successfully used for a short period of time to burn significant amounts of bodyfat, particularly the stubborn bodyfat that is highly resistant to dieting and will not seem to disappear even towards the end of a cutting cycle. The stimulating properties of these drugs can dramatically enhance the fat burning effects of a ketogenic diet.

Here are the stimulating diet drugs listed from weakest to strongest. Their differences in pharmacology are small, but the effects they produce on the individual can vary widely.

Tenuate: (diethylpropion hydrochloride USP) - the mildest.
Phentermines: (brands: Adipex; Fastin, Ionamine)
Bontril: (Phendimetrazine tartrate)
Didrex: the brand name for Benzphetamine - the strongest.

All the amphetamine based diet drugs have both the good and bad side effects of amphetamine - but to a lesser degree. What dieters like about these drugs is that when on them, you feel very well stimulated. You feel euphoric, have boundless energy, and are without fatigue. But the downside is that unless kept in check, they can be habit forming, and when you stop using them - as you must from time to time - you crash and feel highly fatigued.

Tenuate, the mildest of the stimulants, is basically one notch higher than caffeine in terms of stimulation. The best thing about Tenuate is that the lower dose tabs can be used during problem hours of the day to curb the appetite. Most athletes have specific times throughout the day when they are particularly susceptible to breaking their diets. At these times of craving, Tenuate can be of aid. The main downside is that Tenuate begins to lose its simulative effect at around week three.

In terms of effectiveness and simulative properties, the next step up from Tenuate are the Phentermines. The Phentermines come in two flavors: Phentermine hydrochloride and Phentermine resin. Phentermine hydrochloride goes by the brand names Adipex, Fastin, and just plain Phentermine. Phentermine resin goes by the name Ionamine. Adipex and Fastin are 30mg tablets that exert their effect for 10 to 12 hours. Ionamine is believed to have a longer duration, but a milder effect. Ionamine is usually more expensive than Phentermine, and in the real world, the differences between the two are largely subjective. The Phentermines can promote pronounced fat loss and are highly effective.

Bontril-SR is the brand name for Phendimetrazine tartrate. It is a stimulant that is supposedly stronger than Phentermine. Based on discussions I have had with consultation clients, many cannot differentiate between the two in terms of effects and effectiveness. They instead choose one or the other based on price and availability. Unfortunately, because there is a high cross-tolerance between Phentermine and Bontril, one cannot simply step up from Phentermine to Bontril when Phentermine loses its effectiveness.

Didrex, is the brand name for Benzphetamine and it is the closest of all the diet drugs currently available to amphetamine. Benzphetamine is metabolized into methamphetamine and amphetamine, which may explain its reputation for having a greater abuse potential than Phentermine. Additionally, it has the drawback of making you test positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine in urine drug screens. On the plus side, it is definitely a step up in effectiveness from the Phentermine style diet drugs and affords the dieter who has gotten all of the possible benefits from the milder diet drugs a place to go for further weight loss.
